I must admit I'm quite embarrassed I didn't try that to begin with - that's the number one recomendation when troubleshooting, and I forgot (n)

[SOLVED] Create .txt file gone missing from right click context menu. Any way to restore this option?

Thanks a lot for your quick replies, it is much appreciated. I installed an unrelated driver update (Nvidia driver) and performed a reboot as a part of that, and the missing option is now magically back. Here's a picture of what I was NOT seeing before (red arrow) The whole option to create a...

[SOLVED] Create .txt file gone missing from right click context menu. Any way to restore this option?

I have been using Windows 11 Pro for a few months now, and everything has been fine, and I'm surprisingly happy with this new OS. But I have run into a very minor issue, which I haven't had previously. I quite often use right-click -> Create New .txt File, and it has been working fine until...

    [SOLVED] heat pipe too long

Yes, you are completely right about that, and I also suspect that the GPU would be hotter on one side than the other. But it is a cooler I no longer have any use for, and I was interested in finding out how quickly the liquid in heatpipes evaporate when the pipes are damaged. I was also curious...

    [SOLVED] heat pipe too long

I tried to grind down a heatpipe on a cooler that I had no use for. You can only grind surprisingly little off the end of a heatpipe, before you reach the hollow core, and the cooling fluid immediately evaporates. I managed to grind down roughly 1 mm, before the core was breached. I have...

Thanks a lot for your detaild reply, it is much appreciated. I was expecting it to be optional, especially with an i5, but I'm not very familiar with 12th Gen motherboards yet, so it is very nice to have someone confirm it. Thanks again :) EDIT / UPDATE: If it is of interest to anyone who...

[SOLVED] Question regarding CPU power connectors Gigabyte z690 Gaming X DDR4

I'm going to a friends' house tommorrow to help him assemble his new components, but there's one question remaining, I haven't been able to find a conclusive solution to before I go. His new motherboard - Gigabyte z690 Gaming X DDR4 - comes with the usual 8-pin and 4-pin CPU powerconnectors...

    [SOLVED] RAM speed issues

The frequency you see en CPU-z is the RAM "Real Clock" or sometimes called "Base Frequency". The 2133 MHz your RAM is listed as, is the "Effective Clock". Since DDR RAM stands for Dual Data Rate (it handles twice the data per rotation compared to SDRAM), you can calculate effective clock by...

    [SOLVED] Cant enable G sync

As sizzling says, Nvidia only supports G-Sync with a DisplayPort cable, that also means no adaptors. you have to connect from DisplayPort out on the GPU to DisplayPort In on the monitor using a DisplayPort cable. Any other type of cable wont work with G-Sync.

    [SOLVED] Windows 7 x32 to Windows 10 x64

Yes, that's the way. If your bootable install media is sucessfully created, you should be able select the system drive, delete and / or format the old system partition and select clean install. When you do as you've described in your post above, does it seems like the install process is...

    [SOLVED] Windows 7 x32 to Windows 10 x64

You can't upgrade from a 32 bit (x86) Windows to 64 bit (x64), you have to perform a clean install, no matter what Windows edition you try to upgrade to and from when changing architecture. A 32 bit OS can only be upgraded to another 32 bit version

    [SOLVED] speedfan problem

Can you or can't you control fan speed, it is a bit unclear to me? If you can't use SPeedfan, this is what might be wrong : Speedfan outdated and hasn't been updated since 2015, and doesn't support all modern motherboard sensor-chips. For example, about a year ago, I had an ASUS RoG Maximus XI...

Question Is Dragon Center that bad?

For me, MSI Dragon Center was the cause of frequent BSODs I couldn't solve. I tried changing RAM, CPU, motherboard, many many clean installs of Windows 10 and experimenting wih different drivers. Still frequent BSODs. (I had almost all Dragon Center features disabled, as I only wanted to...

I have a 970 Evo 500GB which has been installed in my computer for 660 days, roughly, and I use it as drive C: with my Windows installation. [SOLVED] Evo Plus 970 - Magician software Data written problems

When you formatted the drive, did you perform a "full format" or "quick format"? I recently full formatted two Samsung 860 Evo drives, by coincidence i checked data written before and after the full format, and after both full formats were performed, both drive's total data written in Samsung...
