    Motherboard tier list: Z97 chipset

I wouldn't exactly say yes, 5k caps and 4+1 hybrid/ digital power phases are usually good for quite a long time. If your system is overclocked, to a serious level, then the high quality components may help ensuring stable power. I can compare them to CPU coolers, the stock cooler is generally...

No one can guarantee what core speeds you'd get as they're majorly dependent on silicon lottery, but in terms of MoBo, you won't be held back, in reasonable terms.

RLCCM, Thanks! Asus is quite well known for solid motherboards, thus satisfying the 'durable and stable' criteria. Unless you're an audiophile, the integrated sound will not make any difference either. Both are great for OCing, you just get a couple ROG tweaks with the Pro gamer, but that...

Is an aftermarket CPU cooler necessary for an non overclocked cpu ?

There sadly is a big world outside the DIY market. Having used a now-secondary C2D build for 7 years, with a stock cooler which never was cleaned, for hours (or days at stretch), without any issues, I'm quite sure the performance doesn't degrade. How do you push a system to it's limits...

i planning to buy GT 740 but i dont know my pc compatible with GT 740

The Motherboard features a PCIe x16 slot and that's all it takes for the GPU to be compatible. It'll work just fine.

gigabyte z97mx-gaming is a good board nonetheless. kingcarlos89, as indicated in the list, you're not likely to obtain any considerably higher OC from any one, compared to other one. Usually the chip maxes out (or the cooling solution) before the Tier 1 boards do.

    How much do prices change?

It mostly depends on new arrivals from the same brand or from rivals, which shoot the prices down. R9 290X for eg was $550+ for most part of 2014 (that is, it remained pretty constant), but Maxwell's arrival made it plummet to the $350 range. Age definitely plays a factor but it's more in the...

Best GPU for Intel Pentium G3258

The Overclocking can not make up for the absence of core/ threads in a CPU, it can only enhance the existing ones. GTX 960 will be a good choice, and as i7 said, 4GB version only if you wish to SLI later down the road.

Best GPU for Intel Pentium G3258

I wouldn't go higher than the GTX 960 or R9 280 with that CPU. It may be great for OCing but 2 threads do limit the amount of info the CPU can process and forward to GPUs for rendering (the scenes).

    Motherboard tier list: Z97 chipset

Z97-A/AR does not have Dual BIOS. And they're both technically the same boards, with different color schemes. More info here: http://www.tomshardware.com/forum/id-2401566/asus-z97-series-motherboard-megathread-links-faq.html

You'd need to look on the board's product page you're considering, GB and ASROCK usually ship with Dual BIOS. BIOS is not a criteria for tiering in this list though. The VRM list is one of the most important info that has been used for tiering in this list. The main article accredits it as well...

How much RAM for 2 970's

8GB is just fine for the tasks you wish to do. GPU is not bound to system RAM in any way.
  25. MeteorsRaining

    Are GPU's even neccessary?

You do need graphics (integrated or dedicated) to drive your monitor, or anything which's capable of displaying something. Intel HD integrated graphics are embedded in the CPU and you can do without a dedicated graphics card.

Can i use a second GTX 970 with this configuration.

It's absolutely possible, no issues. The PCIe lanes are divided in SLI to x8/x8 config (which also happens in any SLI capable board, yours included), which's true for all LGA1150 CPUs. Some boards can even do 4 way SLI (using PLX bridging chips) with 16 PCIe lanes CPU on board. You're all good...

    Motherboard tier list: Z97 chipset

Major Update: New sub-tiers have been created in Tier 2, namely Class A and B. The major reason for the sub tiers is to differentiate between mainstream performance oriented boards, that is, boards with SLI ability and good OCing ability at a 'sweet' price point, from boards which have been...

Is an aftermarket CPU cooler necessary for an non overclocked cpu ?

Many, many OEM users are very serious about their work and want stability more than anything else (for prolonged hours of work without unwanted crashes). Even stress testing doesn't make temps go crazy with stock cooler. Again, af coolers do lower temps, and maybe the noise, but this: "you can...
