I have an ASUS Prime Z270-A & wanted to install an M.2 SSD. I currently have a 500GB 2-1/4 in SSD and a 4TB spin drive. I was looking to utilize the M.2 socket to speed up loading games/files. Will the Z270-A support the newest M.2 drives?

A 980 Pro is wasted on that motherboard.
The M.2 ports are only PCIe 3.0 x4.
The 980 Pro is 4.0.

Thank you. Like I posted to the other person who responded, I will keep the system I have until a big jump occurs in CPU technology to make me buy a completely new system.
