With the new DLC comes new creatures to combat as well. These guys are unique to the Nuka Cola World area, so you won't be seeing them elsewhere in the wasteland. Here's what you might be running into.
Ants
Previous Fallout games have had giant irradiated soldier ants, and they've brought them back to Fallout 4 as well. There's a new twist on this old critter though, now they also appear in a smaller flying variety in swarms. The swarm itself counts as one enemy with one health bar, but each ant in the swarm has it's own health and must be individually killed. They aren't particularly problematic, each small ant can be killed in one shot, but they can be hard to hit. A good automatic weapon is probably a good idea against these things.
Bloodworms
These will be showing up in both the adult variety, as well as the smaller larvae in Nuka World. So what are they you ask? Worms the size of a human with their bodies covered in spines and a four pronged maw of a mouth. Then, in case that doesn't sound scary enough, they can also burrow underground and pop out anywhere around you like a molerat does. The fun doesn't stop there though, the larvae are smaller version so easier to deal with, right? Well, just beware any corpses you might come across, since that's where the babies tend to live, generally inside dead brahmin. If you see a twitching and bulging brahmin corpse in the distance, it might be a good idea to avoid it since there's probably a bunch of these larvae hiding inside it.
Brahmiluff
These things are basically the same as brahmin, only they come from buffalo rather than cows so they look a bit different, with different horns and no massive udders. Basically treat them the same as you would a brahmin.
Cave Cricket
These guys are just the same as your regular old cricket, but about 20 times bigger, and meaner. They can be tough to hit due to them bouncing around to get to you, and can close distances quickly, but ultimately they aren't very hard to deal with at all.
Gatorclaw
These guys are the big ticket item when it comes to new creatures in this new DLC. These guys are a genetic mix of alligators and deathclaw, as the name would suggest. They behave pretty much exactly the same as dealthclaws out in the wasteland do, but with one new exception. Sometimes, rather than stalking around and looking for prey, they will be seen laying down in wait, like an alligator would, for it's prey to come to it. If you see something big and green laying around in the distance, it's probably a safe bet to assume it's one of these guys.
Gazelle
Keeping in line with the theory of most Fallout creatures that two heads are better than one, they've given gazelle two as well as two weird shorter legs protruding from it's neck that just look creepy... These things aren't hostile, but they look like something that just shouldn't exist and wants to be put out of it's misery.
Rad-rats
These guys are basically just molerats, but without the mole part so they don't dig. Not much else to say here, just treat them like mole rats who can't dig underground to get to you. I'm surprised it took them this long to introduce rats other than the mole rats.
Hopefully this guide will help with dealing with some of the new dangers of the Nuka World DLC!
