How to Change Power Options in Windows 8?

If you are an advanced Windows user with a couple of years of experience in working with Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8, you might want to customize the behavior of your copy of the operating system as per your personal preferences.

With the help of modified power options in Windows 8, you can set the idle time after which the computer should shut down, go to sleep, or turn off its display. You can also configure your laptop PC to go to hibernate, sleep, or shut down completely when its lid is closed.

Since the user interface of Windows 8/Windows 8.1 is different than that of Windows 7 or earlier versions of the operating systems, it might be a bit challenging for you to locate the Power Options window.

Note: You must keep in mind that some configurations might only take effect after you reboot your computer once you have made the changes. Also, some configurations might require administrative privileges, and if you are not logged on with the administrator account, you might not be able to make the changes in those configurations until you provide the required username and password of the administrator account.
