So you've found the Cambridge Police Station and met up with Paladin Danse, and now he's asked for your help in recovering some tech to set up a radio tower. This will start this quest Call to Arms, which is the beginning of your quest to join up with the Brotherhood of Steel.
Step 1)Follow Paladin Danse.
Paladin Danse will be joining you for this mission, and will take you over to the Arcjet systems building. He'll fill you in on what is going on and on what the Brotherhood of Steel is on the way. Stay close to him or he will stop moving until you approach him again, sometimes he will start walking rather than running, so it turns into one of those fun escort quests at this point. Fun. You'll probably encounter some random patrols on your trip over, but you can bring a companion, and you have Paladin Danse with you. With that much backup anything you run into shouldn't be an issue.
Step 2)Enter the Archjet Sytems building.
Just shortly after entering, you'll run into some smashed up security robots. Paladin Danse will tell you someone else has beaten you here, and it looks like the work of Synths. Just ahead you'll come to a locked door, check the terminal to the right of where you came in and you'll get a password for the main terminal. Using this terminal will allow you to unlock the door to continue. As soon as the door is open synths will pour out to attack though, so be ready.
Step 3) Fight your way to the engine core.
There will be plenty of synths on the way, an energy weapon might be a good idea here (you can grab one of the dead synths weapons on the way if you don't have one.) On the way, make sure you grab the copy of Telsa science next to the CEO's terminal, just before you face the turrets in the hallway.
Step 4) Restore power.
Head to the bottom of the test launch zone and through the door to the power room. Use the terminal to restore power, and it will summon a horde of synths dropping into the engine room to ruin your day. Ruin there's instead by hitting the engine switch to test how well the engines BBQ synth's. You can also just fight them if you choose, but watching them fry is pretty satisfying.
Step 5) Take the elevator up.
Now that power is restored you can take the elevator up to the control room where another group of synths is waiting for you. Clear them out and search the bodies, one of them will have the Deep Range Transmitter on them. Now just follow Danse out of the building and speak to him to complete the mission.
During the talk with Danse outside, he will offer you membership to the Brotherhood of Steel at this point as well, but you can turn him down, or tell him you aren't sure yet. This way you can make up your mind on who to join up with later on in the game if you wish, just completing this mission won't prevent you from signing up with any of the other factions.
