In today's computing device there is almost always an Ethernet port to allow a user to connect to the internet unless the device is retrofitted with a wireless adapter to allow WiFi connectivity. There are a number of brands in the market responsible for making NIC(Network Interface Cards) one of such makers is Realtek Semiconductor Corp. This tutorial will show you how to identify, source and install the necessary drivers for your Realtek powered Ethernet port.

■We'll need to first shortlist the version of Realtek NIC we have onboard our system by looking through the motherboard or product's manual/package/specifications page under the network heading. For the sake of this tutorial we're using an ASRock FM2A85X-ITX motherboard and it has the Realtek RTL8111E NIC onboard.

■Although the drivers necessary for optimal functioning of the Realtek NIC si available off ASRock's website, often times it's either outdated or for most of us we'd like to have the latest drivers there are.
