The alien blaster has made an appearance in every Fallout game to date. Fallout 4 is no exception to that, and here's where you find this amazing weapon.
Step 1) Travel to Oberland Station. From the fast travel spot here, turn around until you see the broken fence. Go through the hole in the fence here and into the woods, traveling almost straight north.
Step 2) Find the downed UFO. Not far out here, you'll start seeing broken trees and then a downed UFO. This is a great sign that you are on the right track!
Step 3) Pick up the trail of blood. Search around the downed craft and you should be able to find a green smear of alien blood somewhere around here. It seems the pilot got out, but is injured. We should probably go 'assist' him. Follow that trail and you'll find a cave. That's where he's holed up.
Step 4) Put the alien out of his misery It's a fairly small cave inside, you'll probably bump right into him as soon as you come inside. He isn't too friendly, and he is armed with that blaster pistol so watch yourself. He is injured from the crash though, so he dies pretty quick.
Once he's down, simply loot the body and you'll be the proud new owner of a great little pistol to dish out heaps of super heated plasma death. Enjoy!
