Vincent is one of the few children that are already in the game. Children in Stardew Valley do not grow up no matter how many years pass. Vincent’s family is a little complicated because he lives with his mother, Jodi, as his father, Kent, is away fighting a war. He has only one other sibling, a brother named Sam. His father Kent comes back after you complete your first year in Stardew Valley and this cause some changes in dialogue with Vincent. Even though Vincent is a child you can still give him gifts and increase your relationship with him, in fact you can also get him as the person you give a secret gift to at the Feast of the Winter Star.
Vincent’s Schedule:
Vincent wakes up at 9:00 am and spends most of his time outside of his house. You will mostly find him with Jay as they are tutored together by Penny in the Museum. Summer is an exception however as they both have summer holidays and spend their time either in the town or on the beach. He always returns home at 7:00 pm because he goes to sleep as he is still a child. But you will not find him outside of the house on rainy days as he is not allowed outside during such weather. The only other deviation in his schedule is on the 11th of spring because that is the day that he goes to the doctor with his mother.
Gifts for Vincent:
You can gift Rabbit’s Foot, Pink Cake, Grape, Prismatic Shard and Cranberry Candy to Vincent as he loves them.
You can also give him coconut and daffodils.
No matter what, never give clay and wild horseradish to Vincent, he hates them. Also, make sure to not give him Common Mushroom, Morel, Winter Root, Leek, Chanterelle, Quartz, Dandelion, Hazelnut, Holly, Purple Mushroom and Snow Yam because he doesn’t like them.
Events with Vincent:
There is only one Heart Event available for Vincent. Once you reach 8 hearts with him, you can trigger a cut scene in which Vincent asks you with all of his childlike innocence whether you can keep a secret or not. You cannot answer and he proceeds to tell you that he will marry Penny, his tutor, when he grows up.
It is interesting to note that he tells you that even if you are married to Penny at the time as Penny is one of the 12 Non Playable Characters available for marriage.
There is another Event with Vincent near the sewer. He and Jas are playing near the sewer when they get scared by something inside and that is when you get the quest to explore the sewers.
Vincent is one of the two children that exist in Stardew Valley, not counting the children you can have or adopt yourself once you are married. Being a child Vincent it is extremely heartwarming to interact with him as his writing is done in such a way that there is never a doubt that you are not talking to a child.
