Definitely a solid 1440p build. You should be able to hit 60 fps in most games. However, if you are going ultrawide, VR, or 4k, look into a Titan XP, the upcoming 1080ti, or add another 1080 on SLI. I'd also look into watercooling if you have the budget.

That is definitely not right. I got 30 fps in Skyrim on a laptop with an OCd Geforce 9600u and Core 2 Duo on lowest settings except textures on medium. What are your temps?
