The forums are now back up after emergency maintenance. We believe the issues from the weekend should now be resolved but we'll be monitoring for any further problems. Thank you for your patience!
Hello guys,
I'm looking for a new case around the £75 mark, I've done a load of research, and I've narrowed it down to these two cases. My first priority is SILENCE, I am trying to make my rig almost inaudible, and according to reviews these two cases are about as silent as PC cases get.
The R3...
I'm pretty sure it's something else which has caused your power bill to double. Computers don't use all that much maybe about 100w at idle, which is the same as one of the old lightbulbs
When you have a mysterious computer problem, one of the first thing to do is to restore everything to their stock settings.
Reset your CMOS
If that doesn't work, try one stick of RAM at a time and run Memtest
Try a prime95 test
If those don't work, it's likely you have some faulty hardware.
CPU temperature is the problem!
95 is way too hot. You should not want to really see it go above 80c
Reinstall your cooler (it might not be seated properly), and if that doesn't help much, get an aftermarket cooler.
It's a nasty OEM board, I couldn't find many specs except that it's socket 775 and it's got some kind of SIS chipset which only supports some Pentium 4 CPUs. So I think the answer is NO, it will not support a dual core.
No offence, but you really need to upgrade, that thing is crap :S
Deffo get a 2500k, I've got a 1055t @ 4GHZ and it bottlenecks my crossfire 6850s in some games at 1080p. The Phenom II architecture really does suck compared to Intel's, and I'm going to grab a 2500k as soon as I have the money.
