Actually it doesn't shut itself off, it sounds and looks fine. Just no video.

But is a motherboard capable of booting with VRM failure? Like I said, it still boots, but there's no video. I think it even goes as far as attempting to boot windows because it takes 5 seconds to turn it off as opposed to it turning off immediately.

But the FX 6300 has a TDP of 95W and the Foxconn is rated for up to 105W CPUs. It also seems like it would do a better job than the stock FX 6300 heatsink, which is very small. But if the stock FX 6300 is better than the other two at cooling, I'll just use that.

Getting a 750 Ti is great for a budget, but make sure you disable the APU's graphics when you install the card; if the 750 Ti doesn't override it anyways. Also, form factor is important. Make sure that the GPU will fit the computer you are installing it into.
