Question 5900x insane idle temps, no idea what to do, please help

New AIO came in, and after constant 90 temp and shutdowns due to overheating (I think like 5, hope no permanent cpu damage from that), temps are back to normal again, so the AIO pump really was broken, or only working partially, thank you for everyone's help!!!

Question 5900x insane idle temps, no idea what to do, please help

Yes, I thought about doing this but despite all the tools I have, I could not find a single fitting screwdriver for the two middle screws on the galahad (pic: https://static.tweaktown.com/content/9/5/9546_12_lian-li-galahad-aio-360-rgb-closed-loop-cpu-cooler-review_full.jpg) so I couldn't even...

Question 5900x insane idle temps, no idea what to do, please help

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. Ordered a new AIO, if the new one brings it back to normal temps, perfect, if not I can just return it but then I have to find out what the actual issue is. Pretty sure it's the AIO though, everything else is working completely fine.

To Pump AIO, and yes it's 100% in BIOS. I use Core Temp to measure it and I also checked HWMonitor, it's the same temp there.

Question 5900x insane idle temps, no idea what to do, please help

I tried it and also reset my bios to default, then did a test, now it's on 50-64 °C when idle, around 75 °C when browsing chrome (10 tabs open) and around 90 °C when chrome (10 tabs) + playing any game or when browsing chrome + updating a game. Already much better! But I'm not sure, are these...

Yes the difference is very noticeable, something must be wrong with the pump. I'm about to try drivinfast247's suggestion and I hope it works.

I think so too, nothing else points at any issues except something with the pump. I'm gonna try and will update here asap.

One of the tubes feels warm while the other feels normal. I haven't overclocked anything yet and I also double checked the mounting.

Yes, it started about a week ago. I checked the cabling and re-applied thermal paste to see if it would make a difference but unfortunately nothing.
