News Asus just made an RTX 5090 with 11 lbs of real gold worth $500,000 — RTX 5090 ROG Astral Gold Edition is the most expensive GPU of all time

A custom order from a wealthy customer perhaps? Wonder how they would do an RMA?

Question GPU artifacts at lower clocks ?

Just a small update. Contacted Palit support and because the fault doesn't occur at default settings it isn't covered by warranty so no RMA.

Question Accurate check for RAM frequency

Your DRAM is running at 1600MHz which is 3200MT/s. For many years MHz was used incorrectly for MT/s (Mega Transfers per second). Things have improved but still not perfect.

[SOLVED] How safe is changing the BCLK from 99.76 to 101 on laptop ?

By default Intel use about 0.5% down spread on BCLK. This means when you set 100 then it is modulated from 99.5 to 100 giving an average of what you see as 99.76. Using center spread or disabling it altogether should see 100 but Intel usually doesn't allow center spread or up spread. If not...

Question GPU artifacts at lower clocks ?

Same Usually my own SW but have used nvidia-settings too No Sorry, prefer to give that a miss thanks Yes, 576.88 for W10, not sure about Fedora off hand. Other versions tried are listed in first post. P1.80 but a fair bit of modification by me from some years ago while playing with Xeon...

Question GPU artifacts at lower clocks ?

Could be just that but I would like to have some confidence it's not the driver or VBIOS before taking that path.

Question How does the CPU know which RAM is installed ?

BIOS reads SPD data. IIRC Core2 could support DDR2 or DDR3 and X99 boards could come with DDR3 or DDR4 with different types to boot but the board itself would support one or the other.

[SOLVED] Cables for an RTX 5080 ?

https://www.corsair.com/us/en/c/pc-components-accessories/psu-parts To be clear what I meant with daisy chain is multiple connections, not parallel connections.

[SOLVED] Cables for an RTX 5080 ?

Type 5 uses micro-fit connectors, a physically smaller size than mini-fit connectors. I bought the 850 a while ago not realizing it had micro-fit connectors. It comes with 2x 8-Pin from PSU to 12VHPWR which is configured as 600W yet box has sticker stating 300W or less! Well using 250W TGP card...

News Nvidia GPU owners may be losing performance because of a simple setting that's disabled by default — enabling Resizable Bar with Profile Inspector...

Cool. Most stuff from X99 and even later had no BIOS resizable BAR setting. What the patch did was hook PCIe enumeration and changed the BAR size at that point using the capability pointer on the graphics card. That way the BIOS itself would assign the larger address range needed to accommodate...

Question GPU artifacts at lower clocks ?

Single monitor, typically 120Hz @ 2k using DP however as part of the testing I had added a second graphics card and ran the RTX 5070 headless (no monitor attached). While obviously I couldn't see artifacts the system still locked up when the RTX 5070 was set in between that small band of memory...

Question GPU artifacts at lower clocks ?

With memory clock, artifacts usually happen when going too high, but this happens on a small range in a low region. GPU: Palit GamingPro RTX 5070 12GB Dual VBIOS (250W TGP) VBIOS 98.05.36.00.4C VBIOS 98.05.36.00.4D Memory clock adjustment range is limited to -2000MT/s to 6000MT/s or...

News Nvidia GPU owners may be losing performance because of a simple setting that's disabled by default — enabling Resizable Bar with Profile Inspector...

I also have an X99 (Taichi) and didn't have to modify firmware to set Resizable BAR. Above 4G can be left disabled in BIOS as it's just a hint. CSM can be enabled too while GOP UEFI driver is also enabled. I've never seen Windows 10 "renegotiate the BAR size" so if you can show this actually...

News Nvidia GPU owners may be losing performance because of a simple setting that's disabled by default — enabling Resizable Bar with Profile Inspector...

Not really but perhaps it's convenient to do it that way rather than POST BIOS. Some years ago Microsoft stated their driver would do the necessary resize but AFAIK that didn't happen. https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-hardware/drivers/display/resizable-bar-support
