[SOLVED] How to Share my home Wifi Internet to a cabin 15 miles away

You can certainly get the radios to do that distance for less than $500. Take a look at the Ubiquiti Powerbeam antennas. They start at around $225 a pair and go up to about $450 a pair. The lowest having around a 20km distance, the more expensive having a 30km distance. You will then have...

Question What is the difference between subnets and vlan ip addresses?

VLANs are not addresses. As others have said it is hard to explain without getting technical. VLAN's work at LAYER2 of the OSI model and Subnets work at Layer3 of the OSI model. Layer 2 is what your basic switch works at and Layer 3 is where your basic router works at. Layer 2 is where your...

    Question sharing network/internet over 500ft distance ?

How much speed do you need? If 100Mbit is good enough you could try MOCA. The lower frequency MOCA the better (there is MOCA that is faster than 100Mbit but it struggles at lengths beyond 300ft). Anyway check out the below adapters. People have used them at 500ft with good success. I use...

Question I've tried everything and it still doesn't work - Portforwarding

Are you sure you are getting a public IP address from your ISP? Some ISP's hand out private addresses on IPV4 because there is a shortage of public ones.

Are all the computers identical? Meaning are you sure that the computers connecting at 100Mbit do indeed have gigabit NICs in them? If so are their NICs set to auto-negotiate speed and duplex?

Can't use switch on fibre converter

I agree it should work. When testing scenario 1 and 2 did you use the same port on the second switch? Maybe its a bad port issue? Also it looks like your media converters have a Force and Auto switch. Auto should work but you can try Force to see if it makes a difference. I assume your...

    VMWARE 5.1 ESXi routing

You could try to turn on Promiscuous mode on your vSwitch and see if that will make it work the way you have it set up, but I really don't think that will get it.

    VMWARE 5.1 ESXi routing

I do not know of a way to make it work like you have it set. I don't think you can bridge at the vSwitch. I could be wrong but I have never seen that. I have always seen the use of multiple Nics in the same vSwitch as connecting to the same physical switch or switch stack (for redundancy or...

Looking for a 2-4 port pcie x8 VMware esxi 6.5 compatible nic card for low cost

The 9y4232 IBM I340-t2 Dual Port Ethernet Adapter is based on the Intel I340-T2. As long as IBM has not loaded some proprietary firmware, then it should work. The VMware compatibility guide says the I340-T2 is supported and the driver in included with VMWare. This will also work...

How to find IP of main Router?

The default gateway on your Sub Router WAN port is most likely the IP Address needed to manage the main router (but not always). That is if I am reading it correctly and the link from your Main Router is going into the WAN port of your Sub Router.
