[SOLVED] My new monitor is boosting my GPU Clock - Need some advice

Thanks for the help. I also found this link where there's a big discussion around this. Link I also found that 120 Hz brings the GPU to idle clock (139 Mhz) but only when still at the desktop. Any other use would bring the clock back do 1439 MHz. Using HDMI instead of DP seems also to help...

[SOLVED] My new monitor is boosting my GPU Clock - Need some advice

Currently it's on "Optimal Power" but I've changed to "Adaptive" and "Prefer Max Performance" to no change. Max performance seems to boos the clock even more, as predicted..

[SOLVED] My new monitor is boosting my GPU Clock - Need some advice

Hey, So I upgraded my monitor from an 2560x1080 ultrawide to a Asus VG32VQ1B 2560x1440p 165Hz. The problem is when connected to my GTX 1080Ti (FE) it boosts GPU clock to a constant 1595 MHz, even on idle at the Desktop. This is causing my temp to rise to 56ºC and making my fan spin faster (on...

[SOLVED] GPU failure after applying new paste ?

How could I not let it hit 84C? I doubt repasting would do anything since that's the temperature all the reviews I saw were showing as normal operating temp. Doing a "GTX 1080TI temperature" on Google also returns a normal temp of 84C...

[SOLVED] GPU failure after applying new paste ?

You get some power from the PCIe enough to spin the fans.. I think your 1080Ti had something unsual since I have one and can't reach those frequencies or that temp. When gaming the max freq I get is 1820 MHz and temp also goes to 84C and stay there. Seeing some reviews thats how the 1080Ti FE...

Question Need some advice - My new Mobo doesn't recognize my GPU

Do you think it's the PSU because of its quality (brand or model) or wattage? The GTX460 suggested PSU is a 450W unit and its TDP is 160W. All the power calculators I tested for the system indicated I was well with a 460W unit. Do you think maybe trying another PSU will get rid of the artifacts?

Question Need some advice - My new Mobo doesn't recognize my GPU

I'm planning on reinstalling the OS of I keep this system. If I don't solve this issue I may go back to the old one. I have a Cooler Master 460W (will check the model when I get home) and it's like 11 years old. Could it be the PSU even if it works just fine on the other system? There's a brand...

Question Need some advice - My new Mobo doesn't recognize my GPU

So I have a somewhat old PC that I decided to upgrade. A friend of mine got me some parts and I replaced my old Core2Quad Q8400 + Intel DG41RQ Mobo + 4GB DDR2 for an i5 2400 + Intel DH67BL Mobo + 8 GB DDR3. To upgrade I simply replaced the mobo with CPU and mem inside my case, plugged the GPU...

[SOLVED] Will an i5 10400f hold a GTX 1080 Ti?

The i5 10600k 33% more expensive than the 10400. Does the increase in performance worth it? User benchmark only shows 8% increase in effective speed: https://cpu.userbenchmark.com/Compare/Intel-Core-i5-10600K-vs-Intel-Core-i5-10400F/4072vs4079 So, the i5 10400 is $260, the 10600k $340 and the...

[SOLVED] Will an i5 10400f hold a GTX 1080 Ti?

Hello, So, I'm (finally) upgrading my PC and got a really nice deal on a GTX 1080 Ti from a friend. I'm thinking on building it together with an i5 10400f and I have doubts that it could hold down the GPU. I'm planning on gaming on a 1080p ultrawide monitor, so no 1440p or 4k for now...
