Yes I have tried with keeping both the drives plugged into power, but only the SSD connected using a different Sata cable, it still didn't boot. And yes I have formatted the HDD. The splitter does power the HDD, I can hear / feel it spin up when I try to Boot.

Yes The HDD is what the Pc originally came with. And I have tried powering the HDD using an external Psu, while having the SSD connected to the one that's already there, the HDD didn't show up in the BIOS or device manager. Just directly booted into the SSD
