I am using the same cooler but for a different motherboard and I can't install it like this. When I tried, I couldn't get more than two of the screws through the motherboards wholes and into the back plate

I have been trying to switch my Hyper 212 Evo from one motherboard to another and I can't seem to remove these stand offs/screws or whatever that are connected to the X shapes piece. Sorry for my poor vocab, I will post some pictures describing the problem

That setup will do good. But if you want to upgrade to an SLI solution, having a larger power supply may not be such a bad idea.

I would recommend a MSI G45 motherboard I heard they were great and have nice sound quality. Also, I would recommend a i5 4670K, they are the king of gaming. Perhaps if you wanted to save some money you could use GTX 760 4GB in SLI. That will work because a: there is enough vram. b: 760 sli outperform 780. It may not be as good as 770 4gb sli or above, but it does the job.
