Yes and no. You can upgrade the storage and the ram only. you might be able to find a cpu with a higher frequency, but it wont be much. Or cost efficient. The graphics card is integrated and therefore not upgradeable. Hope it helps.

You can find them fairly cheap on ebay, but you will have to entirely disassemble the laptop completely to access the cpu slot. Once it is all apart its easy to replace, just make sure to use thermal paste.

It shouldn't matter, but if it does give you trouble, use the boot menu to forcibly boot the correct OS, then format the new drive in My Computer.

on the back of the cd drive, on the inside of the pc, there are two plugs. One is power, one is data. however, seeing as how you have opened the tray, it is more likely the data cable.

Try and check the power plug on it.
