hi, thanks for the help. none of the hardware is faulty, as Ubuntu uses the same hardware that windows 8 was using without any problems.

i wouldn't worry about upgrading. if you just get a antivirus software it'll be alright.

that seems like a nice build! one thing, the mother board has 4 ram slots, i would suggest filling all of them.

8.1 is just an update of windows 8. its not even a service pack. just a really big update. and there might be problems, yeah, a lot of people have had them. if the update fails it just reverts to previous install. when you update, everything stays the same except for what is getting updated...

i think you can do that. you need to make sure it is off of the computer that you are using the code on in the first place.

well, what is the price difference? 1 inch can mean a lot depending on what you are doing with it. it is all your preference.

well, i3s are good dual core CPU's. they are hyperthreaded, so that helps a bit. i put a lot of i3s in my builds that i sell because they are cost effective, can play games without problems, and can do everyday tasks with ease. an i3 isn't technically as good, but it is still very good. more...
