    Question Business class WIFI recommendation

All of my workstation in any space on any campus are physically wired to the network, none but stubborn mac users depend on wireless, but wifi access is needed (celphone, tablets, certain devices). As I have things now the routers are in strategic areas and wired to our network with a static...

    Question Business class WIFI recommendation

A couple of the satellites have a backhaul, but more often than not the structures weren't agreeable to running lines. We are a church. The number of users is variable, anywhere between 10-300 people. One Orbi router with 3 satellites once accommodated more than 400 people for an event. I have...

    Question Business class WIFI recommendation

I'm posting because my long time association with NetGear has proven fruitless. Instead of answering a question they refer me to a reseller. Unacceptable. I have a dozen Orbi Pro SRR60 routers and twice that of the Orbi satellites. None of these devices are failing but time is not on their...

    Hardening Windows 11

Yes, I have an endpoint solution and it has helped. The trouble is 11 is a sieve and with endpoint established on and around that system it validates and opening for Microsoft, and because MS isn't bulletproof, others who hack MS products.

    Hardening Windows 11

Well that's a certainty for sure but its hardly a solution for hardening. Proper IT philosphoy, probably old school these days, the network is a corporate necessity but the internet is a tool not the central point.

    Hardening Windows 11

Restricting or removing tracking for targeted advertisement purposes or any other reason. The ability to restrict or deny edge AI to monitor and harvest whatever MS sees fit to know/take. I have little trust toward MS or anyone other than what is on my campuses and HAVING to use the web as...

    Hardening Windows 11

Enviroment: Windows 2019 domain, Win 10 Pro workstations and role systems Retiring hardware has prompted the lock-stock-and barrel replacement of a couple of systems. These new systems, role oriented, came with Windows 11 pre-loaded. I could wipe the pre-load an install win10 but that would be...

    Question Microsoft's Remote Desktop Manager?

    Question Realtek chip set latency

Hello and thanks for the reply. We use mini-computers (celeton and AMD based) running linux attached to the network using ethernet POE. These systems kind of act like localized print servers only for cameras.

    Question Realtek chip set latency

It appears that some Realtek network adapter, and many dongles using Realtek chip sets, are having some issues. I've found that systems with camera's installed on them have a latency 100x those systems simply running a an application or task. That said, not all systems running Realtek chip sets...

Question Software: Multiple Streams to different Displays

They do support ONVIF, unfortunately we need it for real time streaming and, at least at first glance, it appear unsupported.

Question Software: Multiple Streams to different Displays

We have a need to grab video footage from multiple cameras and present those streams in different configurations to different monitors attached to the same computer. Presently we're using multiple browser instances, each running the needed stream at that location. It works, but I'm thinking...

    [SOLVED] Professional questions about Win11

But back in the last century things were more security centered, most things were off and you turned on what you need. Today most things are on unless you figure out what to shut off, and they aren't always visible with a pretty GUI.

    [SOLVED] Professional questions about Win11

Thanks! I've seen too much to trust anyone, particularly MS, without skepticism. I came across this article as I'm weighing whether to keep the Win11 pre-install or reloading with Win10. https://www.windowscentral.com/one-thing-microsoft-didnt-discuss-windows-11-privacy
