    can i install single channel ram on dual channel motherboard

    I need to upgrade my pc ram to 6gb.so I'm looking for a single channel 4gb ram.will it run on my dual channel motherboard and will it affect the working of my current 2gb ram?can i experience the 6gb ram after installation.
