What do you mean it will not boot up? Do you mean you press the power button and nothing happens? (No fans or beeps). Or does it not boot to Windows?

    What anti-virus to get?

Microsoft Security Essentials. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows/products/security-essentials It's free and uses little resources. I dislike the free version of AVG because of the constant attempts to try and get you to upgrade to the paid version.

Ethernet controller network controller and others missing

According the image that he posted, the only ethernet controller driver there is the one I mentioned (RTL811EL). All the others are either drivers for his wireless network adapter or the application to manage connections for the wireless adapter.

Ethernet controller network controller and others missing

I think a10killer is saying that he does not see the ethernet controller driver on the Dell driver page. But it is there, it is the very last one that says "Realtek" and "RTL8111EL" That is the driver you are looking for.

    Blue screen. Minidump. Help!

Do you have a third party firewall installed? Such as Zone Alarm? Also, the first parameter suggests a hardware issue. Open your case and re-seat ALL cards, RAM, and cables and run memtest. Also, download, install, and run WhoCrashed and let us know what driver it narrows it down to. Once...

If the drive does now show up in device manager, then you more than likely have a defective drive. Look online for a replace drive for your model. They are very easy to replace. Just one screw, slide the old one out, slide the new one in, screw it in. Done. Give me your model number and I'll...
