Well there is 6 channel controllers but with only 30watts per channel. As for needing 60watts I thought most computer fans where under well under 30watts.

The most common problem with a laptop if the power block is working ok would be the connector where the power plugs in. That female connector usually comes unsoldered from the motherboard.

May seem silly but did you make sure your sound card is the default source. Depending on the video card your sound maybe defaulted to the hdmi
