Completed the re-cloning, following your instructions and there's definitely a change. A cold startup takes 25s~ from pressing power to being on the desktop, considering it's a cheap, low performance M.2 I can live with that for now. A restart is more or less the same as it was before though...

Kingston SSD Manager reports that the firmware is up to date. Everything I can find on Kingston's website points to the driver being included in Windows from 8 onwards.

My original C: boot drive, a SATA SSD. A2000 is at about 180/250GB after the cloning, was brand new and empty prior to that. 2 x SATA SSD 1 x SATA HDD 1 x M.2 (The one in question)
