Best replacement for Intel Pentium P6200 PGA989 Arrandale

Both those Acer had 512Mb Ati graphics, I didn´t worried about integrated graphics, but you're right, the 720QM doesn´t have one. The i7-640M seems better for my experience, it´s only dual core but much higher clock a higher cache/core, my son still has the one with 720QM and sold mine with 640M...

Best replacement for Intel Pentium P6200 PGA989 Arrandale

In 2 Acer laptops with P6000 and P6100 I've sucessufully made upgrade to i7-640M and i7-720QM, They only run with a little extra fan noise. If you keep it clean and with a good air flow they will work great.

R7 240 to RX 460 and my computer is acting weird

The PSU shouldn´t be a problem (TYPICAL BOARD POWER <75W), seems some remaining software from R7 in conflict, they´re both Crimson... Some Crimson drivers also gave problems, seems solved with latest version. Or just make a clean windows instalation and latest driver, that would solve the...

Radeon R7 240 GPU. Having HDMI Resolution Probelms.

I´m using a MSI R7 240 2Gb with a UHD TV, 4K resolution, only had a problem when instaled the windows 10 anniversary update, now it´s working perfectly after clean install of windows with the update already included. Try download and install latest driver from AMD website. Best yet is a clean...

AMD R7 240 on HP Prodesk 600 SFF power crash

My opinion...

AMD R7 240 on HP Prodesk 600 SFF power crash

I have a HP Prodesk 600 SFF with AMD R7 240 2Gb low profile. This card always worked fine on this and in a Elite 8000 SFF, both working with Windows 10. This setup is connect by HDMI to a UHD TV and pushed the resolution to 4K alike. Made anniversary update on Windows 10. Now from nothing and...

    Toshiba L650 doesn´t start

Yesterday my Toshiba L650 fell. Nothing very serious but enough to kept it from starting up. When I plug the power cable the ligts appear normally but when I start it the fan starts and sopts immediately, and makes this 2 or 3 times. Also several lights start flashing, including caps lock and...

    Toshiba CPU upgrade advice

It´s not soldered, you can upgrade it, just be sure that future CPU is compatible (that´s what I was searching now, you gave me a good possibility). I have one L650 with P6000 CPU, I already opened it to clean and thermal paste, it's an easy unlock/replace/lock CPU socket, for what I remember to...

    Hp DV3-4305SE bios flickering

Great to know that everything is ok now. Whatever your brother did... Don't do it again. If it messed the bios that way, you may not be that "lucky" next time and that´s something that can send your laptop for it's grave... or to a specialized and expensive repair.

Toshiba L50-B can´t booth windows 8.1 from USB

First I went to BIOS (keep F2 pressed untill toshiba logo apears), disabled "secure boot" and changed boot mode from UEFI to "that other that I don´t remember now" (only 2 options), F10 to exit and keep changes. Insert the DVD or plug the USB pen drive with the bootable windows, again on startup...

New Laptop - "check media fail" and then "No bootable devices"

desertking: First you must disable "secure boot" (it's in another page, search for it), only then the boot mode is available to change from UEFI to CMS.
