Windows embedded 8.1 industry pro vs Windows 8

I'm using Windows Embedded 8.1 Industry Pro as well and I can perfectly use it for gaming purposes (I can play, for example, Battlefield 3 or Watch Dogs without any problems). Windows 8.1 Pro < Windows 8.1 Embedded Industry Pro, because it includes Thin Client apps. I saw around there a post...

GTX 900 series and AMD Fiji

Memory is important, quite more when running at high resolution, so guess you better get 2 R9 290X cards in CrossFireX. Why R9 290X? Because AMD cut the price quite a bit because of their campaign "4GB means 4GB". So you would be getting 8GB VRAM running at full speed.

GTX 900 series and AMD Fiji

The GTX 970 can only use 3.5 GB at full speed, even if there is an SLI configuration. (Not 3.5 GB per card but 3.5 GB per total...) Stay away from that card. There won't be an update since it's a GPU limitation, not a software limitation.

Help! I don't know which GTX 970 brand to pick.

The brand doesn't matter but try to stay away from that graphics card as long as possible. Seriously, only 3.5 GB VRAM actually run at full speed, if you try to use the full 4GB it will degrade performance because of the GPU limits.

Portion of the keyboard not working...

Hello, So I came across this problem the week ago, when I noticed that I couldnt set the brightness higher. (Wrote "couldnt" because the "apostrophe" key is not working). Decided to ignore it but minutes later I had to write something finished with zero but the zero did not work. After pushing...

    Will these parts work together?

I'll suggest you to get the Radeon HD 7870. It costs less on newegg than the GTX 660. See here the comparison: http://gpuboss.com/gpus/Radeon-HD-7870-vs-GeForce-GTX-660 To get maximum performance, try to get an SSD as well. The parts will work together.

    new laptop suggestion

Turbo Boost = Automatic overclock. It overclocks the CPU depending of the cores activated, the type of system (laptop, PC...) and the temperatures. Bottleneck: A CPU decreases FPS. A GPU is able to run at high FPS however because of your CPU, you will not have all the FPS possible.

    £500 student laptop

i5, of course. Matters more the processor than the RAM amount. You could increase the RAM, but it's hard to change the CPU.

Computer crashes randomly most likely a hardware issue.

Download BlueScreenView, run it and then post a screenshot of what it says. If nothing is shown, make sure the path is "C:\Windows\Minidump" (Assuming you have got Windows 7, about Vista and 8 I'm not sure)

When you got the BSOD, what did it say on the screen? (That error code saying, for example, "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA" and that one saying, for example, "0x0000005 (perhaps there are more or less zeros, I don't know exactly how many zeros there are haha), 0x0000000, 0x0000000)

BTW what was the first driver you installed?
