Install SSD in addition to HDD in Dell Optiplex 745

Hi there I bought a refurbed Dell Optiplex 745 on eBay. I intended to install W7 on a SSD to replace the HDD but found I can't use a regular ISO. I want to install Linux on the SSD and keep W7 on the SSD. I know it only has two SATA ports. I plan to unplug the optical drive - but I can't see a...

    Windows 7 virtual machine

Well yeah, I have Malwarebytes and Avast on my PC. I've read about Shared Folders. Can I disable these? Have you ever heard or had any cases of malware escaping? I though virtual machines were effectively sandboxes.

    Windows 7 virtual machine

Well TBH, I don't really need a key if I'm infecting it with viruses anyway. So I'm fine loading it up with Bonzi Buddy and adware and toolbars and that, nothing too serious?

Can I buy the same stick of RAM and still run in dual channel?

Hi, I have a CL10 8GB stick of 1600MHZ HyperX FURY Blue DDR3 RAM. I want to upgrade it to 16GB. Can I just buy the "same stick" and will I be all right? Thanks, Alex Kensit

    One too many blue screens

Not all motherboards have it, especially the cheaper ones. I'd try resetting the OC and try OCing again, if that doesn't work, bump up the voltage. Alex Kensit

    One too many blue screens

No problem. You say "applying settings". Do you mean you are using an OC Utility like MSI Afterburner rather than manual like your CPU? What new parts are you getting? Alex Kensit

Is there a way to still legally get windows 10 for free?

If not, you can download Windows 10 from Microsoft's website for free, and while it's technically legal, it is abusing the system. It's free for everyone who has vision or hearing impairments.

    One too many blue screens

Okay. Try 1.5. Don't go any higher than that or you risk damaging the board and or CPU. Alex Kensit
