Facebook Journalism Project Battles 'Fake News' Problem

I think what one side is trying to say is that absolute objectivity is a entirely theoretical concept. While conceptually absolute truth is real I would compare it to heisenberg's uncertainty principle as soon as humans apply their perspective, biological make up, backgrounds, education, goals...

UK To Invest In FIDO-Based Passwordless Systems To Improve Security

Fingerprints seem like a bad way to go anyway for the digital age. Database breaches getting peoples cheesy passwords, who are just a pet name etc aren't a huge loss. Depending on fingerprints and those getting lost is catastrophic so it would be best if we just didn't use them like that...

Fove Opens Pre-Orders For 'Fove 0' Eye-Tracking VR Developer HMD

I totally agree but the cost to entry for this is probably far to high for the next few years.

Researchers Discover Breakthrough Method To Generate True Random Numbers From Weak Randomness Sources

Think this might have more than just ramifications for encryption this could be a breakthrough in math as well unless math already knew how to do this of course.

HP Chromebook 13 Ships With Intel Core M (Skylake) Onboard, Pair It With The Elite USB-C Dock

I am all for better than 720p res that has been getting on my nerves as the default for chromebook but is this taking it a little far? How much did battery life suffer because of it.

Have A Cross-Platform, Virtual Reality LAN Party In Your Living Room With BigScreen Beta

The Vive is 1000x1000 by two eyes that cut into a smaller fraction to make a fake living room doesn't sound that great.

I think the issue for some people is that poorly understood technology added to poorly written law is a recipe for a bad things.

Modular Motherboard? An April Fools' Joke With Actual Promise

I guess in my basic idea of this is just a mostly empty board with a ton of PCIE4.0 type lanes and connectors on it. Which I kind of like but it would only really be practical for system builders, most people already can't build their own PC's and this would make it much worse.

FBI Can’t Compel Apple To Unlock iPhone, Rules NY Judge

All I have to say is there were not that many people trying to get privacy before your terrible government was trying to take it from you. You have been all getting data mined the whole time for many years this country was basically a joke about privacy up until all this public outcry. As far...

Dual-Screen Siam 7x Smartphone Beats The Odds, Hits The Market

I would buy one if it cost like 200 dollars less and I needed a new phone, this is basically what I want. Nice battery life for ebook reading with E-ink display, dual sim so I can pay for data and T and T seperately. But at 550 this is flagship prices I could buy a Nexus6P for less than this.

ISPs' Lobbying Groups Want Weaker Privacy Rules For Broadband Customer Data

Wouldn't this qualify as being a peeping tom as a business model since half the internet is watching porn? Your ISP wants to know your fetish'es so they can sell that info to somebody else or they aren't going to make enough money? Why don't they try * outright for a change if they want more...

FCC Continues To Push Broadband Into Every Home

I am a bit curious on the definition of "Broadband" and rural. half a mile out of a city or town is rural, or something and satellite and maybe cellular data now count as broadband?

Facebook Promises To Warn Users Against State-Sponsored Attacks

Funny thing is I never bother with most of those extra features like please give us your cell number so we can data mine you even more but promising to warn me about government hacking actually makes me want to setup that extra 2 stage security lol. Leave it to the government to get on my bad...

Report: U.S. Gov't Revises Stance On 'Golden Key' Approach To Encryption

I think the "Government" needs to take a "Golden Shower" with all of those golden ideas they been having and stay the hell away from us with them.
