Question New Build, New Problem, Help!

I am watching this discussion hoping to learn. I have actually had a situation where two different motherboards were bad. And from everything written so far, could it be that the second MB has a bad component? I realize it’s rare for two different MBs to have the same issue. Well, good...

Question New System worked great then found it off

The MB was bad even though they said it was good. No arguing with them, it is not worth the time. What testing did they do? No clue because they never responded to me. A new motherboard, actually same model ASUS motherboard worked fine with the CPU. As I wrote above, I ordered a new CPU...

Question Mini build with AMD AMD Ryzen 7 5700G

I have a AMD 5700G that replaced a bad one, but I had already finished the build with a less powerful CPU. Now, with an extra CPU s in the box, I’d like to build a mini computer. I know there inherent issues with going small, but I still want to do it. Advice on everything else...

Question New System worked great then found it off

Update: Replaced CPU. Same issue. It is not likely to be a CPU fault.

Question New System worked great then found it off

I’ve ordered another CPU. We shall see. Eventually, we will get there. The learning I get will be invaluable. I mean, a person cannot help but learn something. Not saying we are like the old television repairmen in the 50s that replaced tubes until it. worked. A little more...

Right, they could not find or duplicate the problem. They said they updated the bios to the latest one.

Question New System worked great then found it off

Thanks. I put t all back together, and it is exactly the same. If we assume the motherboard is good, then should I try a second CPU? If the problem persists when a new CPU is installed, what would be the next logical step?

Question New System worked great then found it off

It came back by FedEx, and there was a note inside that said they could not duplicate the problem. They said they updated the bios. If they were able to do that, they got further than I did. I wonder if I could get the cpu tested without sending it to AMD? It’s under warranty as well if I...

Discussion Very disappointed with ASUS $1000 X670E Extreme motherboard

Regardless, I'll start my RMA process with ASUS, probably just buy another board now and sell the replacement when/if it arrives. EDIT: Case number created for RMA request, it was easy just needed to provide my serial number ... website here. Are you still waiting to hear from ASUS ? Just...

I was just now thinking it was bad from Amazon. Are you still within the return and request it be replaced window?

Question New System worked great then found it off

I sent it back at my expense. I think it is a lost cause. I hope they can accurately tell me what is wrong with mb. Builders like us need a set of parts. With spare good mb or cpu, etc., we could narrow the cause of failures ourselves.

    Question Recommendation on new system?

What is the warranty worth? Does Lenovo have a good reputation for taking care of warranty work? Just wondering if it is worth preventing you from upgrading for three whole years.

Build Advice System recommendation for work at home ?

Please budget for a bigger power supply. Your system won’t take any more from your power supply than it needs, but if it needs more than your power supply can give it, you will have problems. For CPU, I5 , 11th gen or better will be a must in my opinion. Good luck.
