60hz is fine, as far as I know most PS5 exclusives are 60fps anyway. I'm not expecting G-Sync or 144hz, just don't want to buy a new TV / Monitor :) Would 120hz 1080p work do you think?

Again, I wouldn't say its your CPU. I have a GTX 970 and FX 8350 4.0 GHZ and I have no stutter while running gta v running it on normal-high settings.

I only had the temperature problem after installing a new motherboard but I didn't reinstall my operating system for the new motherboard so it seems I have fixed the issue I reinstalled Windows 8.1 for the new motherboard and the temps are now idle at 38c.
