Thanks wa1. The only thing I was concerned about was power consumption, not so much the better card. For anyone interested, the radeon 4550 uses about 8 watts in idle (xbitlabs) and the geforce 9300 ge uses 12 watts (my own measurement).

Both are compatible with my desktop, but I was just wondering which consumes more power: Nvidia GeForce 9300 GE ATI Radeon HD 4550 I know the radeon card supports ATI PowerPlay, while the GeForce does NOT support Nvidia powermizer. Does this make a difference in terms of wattage?
