Thanks but I already figured out the problem. I had to install Compaq BIOS Setup. Now my computer has Windows XP on it and is running well. But thanks once again for the info.

I have an old Compaq Deskpro and wish to boot from the CD. But when I go into the Compaq diagnostics to change boot options (F8) and select 'computer setup' it started to load, but it continued to load for 8 hours and never worked. I have Windows 2000. Is there any way I can boot from the cd...
