News NVIDIA RTX 3070 Ti, RTX 3080 Refresh May Launch This Winter

I like how Nvidia thinks "Ok things are going along just fine! Let's release some new cards!" So Nvidia are you saying there will be plenty of supply of these? Of course you are! I look forward to buying your product at MSRP!

Review Samsung 49-Inch Odyssey G9 Gaming Monitor Review: Big Screen, Big 1000R Curve

I had the previous version of this monitor (the 49" Samsung CRG9). I'd add one "Con" to the list for the G9, which is that the aspect ratio does NOT play well with some games. If stick to the big AAA titles, you'd probably be fine, but if you like to mess around with some indie games, or more...

Question Light Strip / RGB dabbling...

The end of the Govee strip, the 3 tabs are labelled. Looks like standard ARGB strip, tab 1 is 5V, tab 2 is Data, tab 3 is ground. In theory everything should stay the same; its just going from 3 tabs to female 3 pin header plug. No voltage changes or any of that.

Question Light Strip / RGB dabbling...

I have a few Govee light strips laying around. These are the 3-pin addressable RGBIC strips. At the end of the strip is the 3 brass tabs used to connect to another strip. Is it possible to connect a standard 3 pin 5V ARGB header plug to the strip... you know, the one that's 4 pins wide, but...

    [SOLVED] PCIE Cable Ugly

I did some RGB and cable management on my PC today... and realized the PCIe power cables for the graphics card are an eyesore! Bleh Cable Anyone have any suggestion for a better solution that looks nice? Searching Amazon didn't seem to help much; probably because I don't have a good idea of...

News GPUs Are Getting a Lot More Expensive Due to Tariffs

I've stopped caring. OH LOOK the price has gone up, on something we can't even get in the first place. I say raise the price by $500 on every card until the miners and scalpers can't handle it anymore and stock gets built up.

    Discussion Opinions for Gaming Monitors

Perfectly fair suggestion! Don't get me wrong, this monitor is amazing; and pretty much no matter what I get I'd be throwing away the DisplayHDR 1000 certification since there are very few monitors out there with that rating (and I probably don't want to spend another $1500+). There are a...

    Discussion Opinions for Gaming Monitors

We have three 34" ultrawides in the house; the best one it 100 Hz (actually, I passed that one on to my wife when I got this 49"). I also have a driving sim rig that I need to stick a monitor in front of... for that I can use one of my existing 34's or a 28" 4k 60hz. Putting the 49" on that...

    Discussion Opinions for Gaming Monitors

Thanks for the feedback! That monitor does look pretty good... maybe I'd get 2 of em. Although, no HDR. The one I'm on is DisplayHDR 1000; which is amazing, when there's content. The only game I've really even seen it in is No Man's Sky, so maybe its not too big of a deal. I'm gonna take a...

    Discussion Opinions for Gaming Monitors

Hi all . First the PC specs that matter: Core i7 9700k 16 GB DDR4 3200 Geforce 2080 Ti I currently have the Samsung C49RG9, 49" ultradwide at 5120x1440 and HDR. While this is a super amazing monitor, I'm not sure this wide is great for gaming. IF the UI in the game is fine and not...

    [SOLVED] System balance

What I mentioned above already fits within the $2000 scope, the 1TB SSD and the bigger power supply. Unless we are talking about getting better quality over the quantity. For example, the 1 TB SSD is the Inland brand... If I went down to 500G I could probably get a Samsung 970 Evo or...

    [SOLVED] System balance

I agree with both of these. Is PowerSpec a known / decent power supply brand? I do want a decent SSD for the boot drive (one of the little PCIe ones)... but for bulk storage I still have some mechanical drives in my current machine, which I wouldn't mind replacing with basic SATA SSDs.

    [SOLVED] System balance

Currently running 3440x1440 Ultrawide @ 100 Hz. I think the Valve Index is the more demanding component in that regard, however. The 2080 Ti build would have a i7 9700k, an Asus Z390=A, 16 gig of RAM, and a 1TB NVME SSD, a cheap $70 case and a 750w PSU. Stepping down to a 2080 Super would...

    [SOLVED] System balance

I have a simple question. I have a budget of $2000 for a new system. As was pointed out in another thread I made here, I can get a system with a 2080 Ti, if I "skimp" a bit on the other parts. Would that be worth it? Or would it be better to get a 2080 Super, then allocate the saved money...

[SOLVED] New Build, Arguing with Myself

Hmm.... I don't know how you pulled off this miracle, including a 2080 Ti. I'll definitely be investigating these parts. Thanks for the help!
