Hmm. Try and install drivers for your graphics card from onboard graphics. Maybe you have dodgy drivers or outdated drivers.

Here are the things I would check over quickly - Have you correctly inserted the 8 or 6 pin power connector into the graphics card? See if you can relocate the graphics card into a different slot or vice versa with the sound card. If anything happens - please reply - i'm up all night ;)
