Review The Intel Core i9-9900KS Special Edition Review: 5.0 GHz on All the Cores, All the Time

If my memory serves me correctly, the Stockfish chess engine got stomped by Google's Deepmind AlphaZero, not the other way around.

Exclusive: Testing Intel's Unreleased Core i9-9900KS

I totally agree. 7nm especially has been a huge advantage on that front. It's just that AMD CPUs have traditionally been power hogs while Intel has been fast and power efficient. I find it funny that the roles are somewhat reversed now.

Exclusive: Testing Intel's Unreleased Core i9-9900KS

There's almost zero reason to buy this CPU if the rumored price is accurate. It's only for those who want the absolute best gaming experience. For almost every other usage case in the $500 price bracket, the 3900X is the clear winner. I still find it funny that AMD's 12 core CPU consumes less...

News Navi Goes Mainstream and Mobile: AMD’s Radeon RX 5500

Per AMD's site, it looks like the TBP will be 110W. I don't know if the press was given bad info, or if the 150W TBP is referring to a different card/configuration.

News Silicon Lottery Reveals AMD Ryzen 3000 Binning Stats

Likely density and architecture. Their IPC increase likely came at the expense of a little clockspeed. If they had simply done a die shrink of Zen+, I guess they would have hit slightly higher (~200MHz) clocks. But that's just my 2 cents.

Review Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Review: Leaving Navi In The Dust

I completely agree with you. Nvidia is free to charge whatever it likes for its top end cards. And yes, top end cards always have poor price/$ ratio. It's just that the 2080 (and to a lesser extent the super) are basically a sideways upgrade from the previous ultra high end, the 1080 ti. Yes...

Review Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super Review: Leaving Navi In The Dust

I don't understand why this card got a 4/5 star rating, which ties with the RX 5700. This card is way overpriced. Technically, both cards are, but at least the Navi card is a much better value than competing Nvidia cards.

    Question CPU problem

A 7th gen i5 is no slouch. Your graphics card is the bottleneck here. Your CPU probably won't bottleneck your PC noticibly unless you are running something like a 1070 or above graphics card.

    AMD's Future Chips & SoC's: News, Info & Rumours.

Interesting. Even though the third and fourth virtual threads would not be as good as the first virtual thread, it would give AMD a distinct advantage in the server market.

    AMD's Future Chips & SoC's: News, Info & Rumours.

Just some napkin math. If Zen 2 ends up hitting 5 GHz with a 15% IPC increase, then the theoretical single thread performance would increase by 37%. If it hits only 4.7 GHz with a 10% IPC increase, then theoretical ST performance increase would be 29%. Of course, this doesn't translate directly...

    AMD's Future Chips & SoC's: News, Info & Rumours.

Yeah, 5 GHz sounds a bit high. But, 4.7 doesn't sound unreasonable. 14nm to 12nm saw a 200 MHz improvement. GloFo 12nm to TSMC 7nm should see a greater improvement, so 4.6-4.8 turbo sounds pretty reasonable. Either way, a 15% increase in IPC plus a max turbo of around 4.7 GHz would be enough to...

Question Why is my computer at a constant 90% to 100% EDC?

Try limiting your CPU utilization to 50% in your power settings. This is a good way to see if CountMike is right.
