8850m ddr3 is slightly (~5%) more powerful than 840m nd there is no difference between i7 4500u and 4510u. The 840m maybe newer card but both card will be going to support dx12. Rest is ur choice ☺ Anyway if u find the ddr5 varient of 8850m then go for it cause its ~15% more powerful than 740m
