    My First Build

Also, the 3770K is only needed if you do a lot of video editing and stuff like that. You will get the exact same performance in gaming with the 3570k which will save you almost a hundred bucks. Just a suggestion.

    Gaming Rig ~ $2000

Yeah I've heard mixed reviews about the Mushkin SSDs...if anyone out there can vouch for them I'm all ears but it is always safe to go with Intel :)

Best $1000 system with certain caveats

Pretty good build but I do have a few suggestions. -Go with the WD Black rather than the Seagate. Better support, less failures, faster drive. -There is absolutely no reason at all to have 16 GB of RAM. Use that 50 Bucks or so toward a larger hard drive, SSD, or upgrade to the far superior EVGA...

    Best motherboard for this build

I agree with everybody here. Go with the 3570K and I would suggest that you get the Asus P8Z77-V PRO ATX LGA1155 Motherboard. Will be more than enough at a reasonable price and has SLI capabilities if you need it in the future. I also agree that you should get a 650w PSU, anything else is...

    Other Opinions/Advice

I have to disagree. Getting a 6-core processor on this rig is way overkill and will not really enhance your performance that much. Instead I would use the money you were willing to put toward the hexa-core to buy an SSD or upgrade the video card, but a 6-core 700 dollar rig is ridiculous IMO.

    Building a Gaming Computer - Budget $1000

500 w is not a good idea. Remember that the graphics card is not the only thing in your rig that needs power. Also, if you ever upgrade to a more power-heavy card or go with SLI, you will have to buy a whole new PSU which will be a pain in the ass. Just a suggestion, but a good suggestion none...

Looking for advice on my gaming pc build

Hello Hardware-Lovers, I am brand new to the forums but have been browsing them for quite a while and there seem to be tons of people giving great advice! I currently have a 1 year old Asus laptop that I have been using for gaming but it's not able to run a lot of the newer games. I am thinking...
