Fans turn on for a second and then shut off, PC wont boot

Your going to have to upgrade your bios before if will work with your new CPU. I believe your board supports a system called Q-Flash (http://www.gigabyte.com/webpage/20/HowToReflashBIOS.html), but this still requires a CPU in the board! You either have to borrow an old CPU to run the board and...

Computer keeps crashing after re-inserting ram

Then you'll have to open the case and read the maker/model off the motherboard itself (always useful to know anyway). It'll be printed on the motherboard somewhere - usually next to the manufacturers name.

Computer keeps crashing after re-inserting ram

Sorry, I don't know the make of your motherboard, and with out also knowing the type of corsair modules, there's no way of knowing if they are compatible. They may fit the board, but they may still not be compatible. However, you can still go to the Corsair website, run the Memory Advisor for...

Computer keeps crashing after re-inserting ram

It can be any make, but it needs to match your motherboard, so I recommend you start by going to the Crucial website and using their configurator to identify your RAM choices (http://www.crucial.com/). I strongly recommend you buy a good make like Crucial, Corsair, Kingston, and although you'll...

Computer keeps crashing after re-inserting ram

Sounds like a failed RAM chip. If you have 2 modules, one at a time to see if the PC is more stable with only a single module. If it is, you'll need to replace the faulty module with a identical one. Some brands have a lifetime warranty, but if yours doesn't, see this as an opportunity to...

    Strange connection loss

Assuming your still with Talk Talk, have you tried their helpline (god forbid!). I know they can be a bit tedious but it is what you pay them for. Your ISP will talk you through all the usual checks and identify the source of the fault, and if its identified as a faulty router they should change...

    mecer sound driver

Without knowing the exact model or your audio chip it's kinda hard to link to the exact file, but there are a few driver sites with links to Mecer drivers: http://www.solvusoft.com/en/update/drivers/sound-card/mecer/models/ http://www.driverguide.com/driver/detail.php?driverid=961951...

    Can't open files

You can't 'open' .exe files. They are program command files (WORd.exe, iTunes.exe, etc). Double-clicking them should run the programs - the list of programs your START menu are simply links to these .exe files.

laptop not charging but bithe the battery and adapter-charger is seperately Ok

It could just be the mains connector in the laptop which may, or may not be, soldered directly to the motherboard. Either way it should be repairable, though its not a DIY job without some experience of dismantling laptops. Sounds like you'll need to take the laptop to a repair shop and get a...

My PC freezes on startup every time i turn it on.

Had a similar problem with faulty RAM - first boot always failed, and a soft re-boot started without problem. Try re-booting with only one stick of RAM at a time to see if there is any difference.

laptop not charging but bithe the battery and adapter-charger is seperately Ok

Could be the contacts between your laptop and the battery. Remove the battery from your laptop and check the contacts in the laptop battery compartment are clean. Might be worth comparing them to your friends laptop?

New PC build not working properly... possible issues with the motherboard?

Problems like these can be really frustrating. It's either the RAM or motherboard which might be at fault, and as you've almost eliminated the RAM it could be a faulty board. Before you RMA the board, try breadboarding it without the graphics card (use the onboard VGA) or HDD. Make sure CPU and...

Core 2 duo to Core 2 Quad

You'll have to open your case and look for the board's manufacturer and model printed on the board itself. Then visit the support pages for the board on the manufacturers website. There is usually a 'CPU compatibility' section which will list all the CPU's your board can use along with the bios...
