Unfortunately you will not be able to upgrade your GPU. Maybe put the money towards a budget desktop!

How old is the computer? It is possible that it isn't capable of outputting 1920x1080. Would you be able to provide the make and model of the PC?

Sounds like it could be a PSU related issue. Try unplugging the power from the PSU and letting the computer sit un-powered for about 15 minutes and then plugging it back in and trying to boot. See if the results are the same as before.

How is the 970 positioned in your case, and how is the cable management? What case are you currently using?

Hello CPU forum! I have a quick question regarding the FM2+ AMD A10-7850K: Running native windows and a motherboard with 1 VGA, 1 DVI, and 1 HDMI output, how many displays would this CPU be able to support? Would the CPU be able to go past 3 displays by using DVI/HDMI splitters? Thanks!

GTX 750ti should be more than enough for that resolution.

I can't give you a definitive answer, however, I can give you my opinion. I honestly don't see the price of the 970 dropping much anytime soon, maybe $10 or so. It's already such a great price/performance card that I don't foresee them dropping prices by much.

If you have a microcenter/tigerdirect store (or any brick and mortar PC part store nearby) you may be able to head there and pick up a cheap GPU for around $30.00 to get you up and running until you decide on a replacement GPU.

I would start off by uninstalling any video drivers that are currently installed, followed by installing that latest drivers from nvidia.com

That's extremely cheap for a monitor, not sure if you could find one at that price unless you went around looking at garage sales or something. I would recommend something along the lines of this...

HDMI 2.0 can do 60 hz, however, that card will struggle to maintain 60 FPS in any demanding applications at 4K resolution. I would say that it would be able to play video fine at 60 hz though.

Before I answer your 3 questions, I would let you know that it may be a good idea to consider using just one R9 290x instead of the 2 R9 270's in Crossfire. In my experience it seems to be better to have 1 powerful GPU compared to 2 less powerful GPUs, this is because some games give problems...

I would also check your GPU/CPU temps to see if they are getting to high. From there I would look into possibly overclocking that 2500k; I'm still running one as well that is OC'd to 4.3GHz and it chews threw games still. If the 2500k isn't overclocked at all, I could see it causing a slight...

You should be good to go. Most of the 750ti's do not even require an additional power connector, they use only the PCIe's power output. Just make sure you go for one that doesn't require a connector!
