FYI there's a better value version available. PC with the same specs but a 5070 for $1950.

One thing I didn't see here that can be very important about 'Gaming laptops' is how much wattage is allowed by the system. It can vary more than you think for the same types of GPU's. A 4070 laptop might be able to reach 145 watts for the GPU where another might limit it to 115. Important.

This also doesn't factor in cost. I'm willing to bet an M4 Max costs allot more to produce than a 9950 does.

The 970 should be there instead of the 980. A far more important card that was on par with the 8800 as maybe the best Nvidia GPU ever made.

This again? The game can run on PCs with as little as 2GB of VRAM and has been released on last gen consoles too. It has nothing to do with the S hardware. This is on the game and the developers.

This in a nutshell. Apple has no choice. They need the 'bleeding edge' for manufacturing technology and TSMC is it. Samsung is the only other option and they are behind them. That could change in the future at some point but for now they have to pay up like everybody else.

The 5700 non XT is 7.9 TFlops. This will be around 12. So actually way above.
