News Former EKWB Employees say company has racist, hostile work environment, withholds overtime pay

Reading the article, it talks about belittling staff by calling them lazy and stupid. Well maybe that's the truth. I work with some people I would fire in a heartbeat for being utterly useless - but that's not the "inclusive" way now is it. If I told them they were useless, they'd probably...

News RTX 4060 Ti Beats RX 7600 In Early Generic Benchmarks

I've said it before - as someone who bought their first AMD card ever (always had Nvidia since the days following 3dfx), and started getting black screen issues from the day I installed it. It came down to the Displayport cable. The one I'd been using with my 2080 for so long does the black...

News Nvidia Shares GeForce RTX 4060 Performance Numbers

Bought a PS5 with VR2 headset; absolutely hate it due to lack of games, discovery that I don't like controllers. Not to mention, it will allow you to purchase and download games that don't work, and then Sony tell you you're ineligible for a refund. Needless to say, big expense just to play...

News ChatGPT Can Generate Malware Capable of Avoiding EDR Detection

Interesting... it can create malware, it can tell offensive jokes about men, but when asked to tell a joke about women, it says it was written to be respectful to others...

News AMD's Reference RX 7600 Card Doesn't Fit Some 6+2-Pin Connectors

Way to word the article. AMD hasn't released the card yet, and also said no "flawed" connectors will be released to the public.

News RTX 4060 Ti Beats RX 7600 In Early Generic Benchmarks

DLSS is a great technology, but conversely I suppose, I've often looked at side-by-side screenshots and felt like I've been suddenly afflicted by cataracts when looking at DLSS images. That said, in many games, anti-aliasing is horribly implemented, and I always appreciate attempts to fix that!

News RTX 4060 Ti Beats RX 7600 In Early Generic Benchmarks

As much as most of what you said makes sense, I simply can't agree on this point. It is highly unlikely that you'll get two manufacturers matching performance on anything. There are multiple architectures in play here. To get two identical outcomes is improbable, that it can only lead to one...

News AMD's RX 7900 XTX Matches an RTX 4090, While Using 700W of Power

Absolutely it's subjective, and we should remember to remain tolerant of those who find things funny that we do not. For instance, farts are still amusing at 53 :) Crysis was always amusing - technically. Great game at the time - but then you realise it's single threaded. Reminds me of my early...

News AMD's RX 7900 XTX Matches an RTX 4090, While Using 700W of Power

So what I'm reading here is that AMD's 7900XTX was a 4090 class card - and rumours were likely true around the discovery of some defect prior to release, resulting in much higher power requirements than expected, and ultimately obscuring the card's true performance.

News AMD Can't Beat Ada, So Brags About Old Ampere Comparisons

In that case, look on the bright side. You saved $35K :D

News AMD Can't Beat Ada, So Brags About Old Ampere Comparisons

That's why I threw $35K at a solar and battery solution. No more power bills.

News AMD Can't Beat Ada, So Brags About Old Ampere Comparisons

I have no real allegiance to any company, though I promised myself a couple of AMD builds (for the first time since the old Athlon days) - so I choose to make it at least a passing consideration that AMD is fighting on too many fronts as the "smallest" of the three companies - i.e. for CPU...

News AMD Can't Beat Ada, So Brags About Old Ampere Comparisons

Conversely, after building PC's for more than 30 years as an enthusiast, using the best parts money can buy - now I just buy what I feel like. This time around, it's a couple of generations of AMD hardware (for the first time in my life), it simply doesn't matter that the performance isn't the...

I said "most people". You are not most people, clearly.

News AMD Can't Beat Ada, So Brags About Old Ampere Comparisons

Let's be realistic here. Most people only want AMD to be "more" competitive so they can buy cheaper Nvidia GPUs. A bit stinky really.
