Will adding RAM decrease pagefile size?

Looking to try to be as optimized as possible and was wondering of I installed more ram if my pagefile size could be reduced. I'm running 16GB of DDR4 2400MHz, and I noticed my pagefile size is the same as my RAM. I'd rather have my system using the RAM rather than pagefile, but not sure if...

    Intel Fires Back, Announces X-Series 18-core Core-i9 Skylake-X, Kaby Lake-X i7, i5, X299 Basin Falls

There's rumor too that they're not going to used a soldered CPU lid (can't remember the proper term), that they're going to thermal grease or some other compound between the die and the lid. They're cutting corners and the results aren't usually good for anyone.

Alphabet Eyes Wireless Networks As Google Fiber's Rollout Halts

It's all about money. Money wasn't flowing in the correct direction somewhere, and they see wireless as a higher yield financially. Who wants to bet they try to buy a cellular provider...

'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition' Goes Gold, Here Are The System Requirements

You have always been able to unlock the framerate on Skyrim and other Bethesda games, but since their physics is linked to the FPS you're going to be stuck at 60. The remaster of Skyrim is simply running on the same upgraded engine that Fallout 4 is running on, so 60FPS unless you want your...

'The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition' Goes Gold, Here Are The System Requirements

The caveat here to get the Special Edition for free is that you had to have purchased the game and all of the DLCs on PC. Since the remaster isn't launching on PS3 or XBOX 360, users on PS4 and XBONE will still have to purchase the game. Since I'm a PC user, I'm personally excited for this...

Microsoft Releases Windows 10 Build 14942: Increases RAM Usage

Might use more RAM in the beginning, but once I can see what's running and do what I can to stop the services I don't want it may end up cleaner. I've got 16GB right now, might jump up to 32GB if I have to.

Google, Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, And IBM Create AI Consortium; What Does It Mean?

When I see companies like those mentioned here the one thing I think of is money. I can't help but wonder if they don't have individual goals of using this technology to make money. Be it within their respective websites/social networks or gaming platforms or whatever. I like the OpenAI idea...

Fujitsu To Mass-Produce NRAM Carbon Nanotube Memory In 2018

Depending on what they are planning, if this heads to SSDs and we start seeing multi-TB SSDs at a reasonable cost - it could be the end of HDDs as we know it. I would love to have a 4TB storage drive of this stuff, or even just one big drive instead of my current SSD for the OS and HDD for storage.

AMD Likely Skipping 10nm For 7nm, Restructures GlobalFoundries Agreement

Since AMD has been able to hold on long enough, it only makes sense that they end up on the same process node as Intel. Getting down to the 7nm level is hard, and who knows how much further down they will be able to go without some new technology being invented/perfected. It's going to come down...

Fx-8350 powerful enough for the GTX 1070

I've done the stress test and logged the results. The GPU usage hovers close to 99%, and the CPU usage stays in the 20% range. When playing Fallout specifically, my CPU usage spiked above 70% once but averages about 55%. The GPU usage average was under 50%. My display is only a 1600x900 and I'm...

i7-4790K to replace AMD FX 8350

Yea, when you put it like that it makes sense. I've never done an I tel build and have always been faithful to AMD. If Zen lives up to all the hype, we'll have to see how many variations there will be and what effect there might be to pricing across the board. My 8350 rig is doing what I ask, as...

i7-4790K to replace AMD FX 8350

I'm thinking about upgrading my rig from an AMD FX 8350 and going Intel. I've been searching through benchmarks and pricing and motherboards and dear God there's a lot of information out there. I mainly play games and don't do anything as far as video editing or other heavy apps that might need...

Fx-8350 powerful enough for the GTX 1070

I have an AMD FX 8350 and just got a reference GTX 1070 about a month ago. I can get 60 in Fallout 4, which is a CPU heavy game to begin with, but I get some pretty bad frame drops and the GPU usage never goes above 50% or so. I'm feeling the bottleneck for sure.

More Nvidia Pascal Titan X Details Emerge

Naming the card the Titan X, again, is going to cause some confusion. Unless there's some other way to differentiate between the previous version people who are out there shopping for one need to pay close attention. I think if you're going to drop over $1k on a GPU you should be doing your...
