Okay, thanks. Yeah, my next step was going to be taking the old ram out and seeing if the new works on it's own. If it does, I will stick the old ram back in, reset the cmos and see what happens. Thanks!

Newegg has a Powercolor R9 Fury X for a decent price. I know powercolor isn't a "high end" GPU manufacturer, but what is the difference between lets say the Powercolor and Sapphire fury x's since they are both reference cards?

Is this for gaming? If so, what type of games and at what resolution are you going for? Lastly what is your budget for a new PSU and GPU? You're definitely going to want to get a new PSU if you plan on any significant upgrade to the GPU.

I had an FX-6300 for a few years and just built a new rig. The FX-6300, while not the best, is no slouch. I used an R9 280x in the build with the 6300 and it performed great, also have seen good performance with a GTX 970 and a 6300, the throttling will be negligible and the improved...

It's closest competition is the GTX 960, although it is a bit better than the 960 performance wise. I just built an htpc using the Sapphire itx 380 and couldn't be happier.
