Graphics card bad? Trouble is I don't have another one to try/test out. And if I buy a new one and it's not my original graphic card - I'm stuck with an extra card.

    Deleted drivers lost monitor

CMOS battery was dead. Replaced it. Still no display. Reaching way back in my memory I seem to recall an error message about the one driver the "Scan for Hardware Changes" came up with. Unfortunately can'r recall what the message sent. Perhaps the driver(s) is corrupt?

Could probably enter BIOS by continually hitting the DEL key - but I can't see anything on the screen to know what I'm doing once I get there.

Have an Asus A8N-SLI MB with no onboard video port so I have a GeForce GT630 Graphic Card in a PCIe slot. It was working even though in Device Manager there were 3 items with a yellow exclamation mark. Video Controller, Multimedia Controller and 1 other I can't recall. I tried uninstalling all...

No matter which option (including letting STARTUP.NSH run) all I get is the SHELL> _ I type in EXIT and it takes...

    x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~2405Mhz

Ordered a Masscool 5T568S1H3 CPU Cooler. Arrived today and installed with new grease evenly spread across the CPU. Powered it up and been watching the temp in the bios screen all afternoon. Immediately climbed to 56 degrees and has stayed there with nothing been done on the PC. I would imagine...

    x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~2405Mhz

Hey Tea, Thanks for the advice. The cost is not prohibitive so replacement may be a quick, cheap fix. Don't think the fan is knackered (love those English terms!). At 57 degrees it's spinning at 1847RPM. The system fan at 1347RPM. But obviously the 1847 RPM isn't keeping the CPU cool enough. And...

    x86 Family 15 Model 47 Stepping 2 AuthenticAMD ~2405Mhz

My PC is an HP Pavilion a1410n with the CPU above. It is shutting down frequently and rebooting on it's own. I've checked disks. I tried to repair anything wrong with Windows XP. Still shuts down. The only thing I thought strange was in the bios page the temperature of the CPU is 57 degrees. Is...
