    Gigabyte Mbd GA-Z68A-D3H-B3 - fail memtest w/16G, pass w/ 8G

Go into the BIOS' memory page, increase tRFC 15%, rounded UP to the next integer; check that CMD (Command Rate) is at 2, and bump the ram voltage a tad. Any time you're running two DIMMs per channel, these adjustments are needed. The SPD on the DIMM is optimized for a single DIMM per channel -...

P35 DS3L - PCI Devices Listing hangs on ACPI Controller

Just an aside here - the 'ACPI controller' thing is generally a red herring - it just happens to be the last thing the BIOS displays before it 'fires up' the actual hardware, so the message 'hangs around' to confuse you... It's typically a boot disk problem (might try an MBR repair); this can...

Is the P67A-UD4 worth the higher price than the UD3P?

ThermalTake has an on-line PSU calculator that both seems to be well-maintained (i.e., cards, especially vidcards, are updated pretty close to card release...) and to give reasonable answers. You can find it here...

Is the P67A-UD4 worth the higher price than the UD3P?

Ye gods! Now I know hell has reliably frozen over, and any day now, CERN will produce a Higgs Boson that will collapse the planet into a three-quarter inch sphere of neutronium!! That touch BIOS thing is a windoze front-end to the BIOS? That's like letting Rube Goldberg design the fuse for your...

Is the P67A-UD4 worth the higher price than the UD3P?

Dunno how connected folks here are to the 'rumor mill', but may want to delay 'new box' decisions for a week or ten days: http://www.xfastest.com/cms/tid-59703/ Intel's 'legal' release date for these is sometime next week - somehow, a batch 'leaked' onto the shelves in Taiwan... If the rumors...

    Boot USB HDD Problem

I think this is the same issue as with flash drives - the BIOS' built-in USB abilities end at FAT-32 - a drive formatted in say, NTFS or one of the journalling reiserfiles for Linux, shows up as having no MBR (master boot record), or fails to show up at all... In addition, the "USB Storage...

    New build has zero boot

Please don't take this wrong if it's not applicable, but the very first thing I must ask is - did you hook up a motherboard speaker to your front panel connector - the one with the power switch & LED, as well as the drive indicator LED? I ask as many people assume the BIOS' diagnostic 'beeps'...

    GIGABYTE GA-880GM-D2H HDMI Motherboard--2 questions

What they are referring to on the Egg reviews is has nothing to do with optical drives, they are talking about the lack of an optical audio output from the on-board sound system. Here's a pic of an optical (TosLink) cable, with a pack of smokes for an idea of scale: ..and here's some info on...

    EP43-UD3L memory issue!

You are OK there - the listed maximum for the 82P43 (the MCH) is 1.21V, so you're only nine hundredths high - and northbridges are rated for lots of heat, the maximum for that particluar one is 103°C. The memory is OK as well, 1066 DDR2 is all specified at 2.1V using the same chips. Safe, mild...
