Yes indeed. A moot point now unfortunately, but I tried to get her to back up everything and even work from the files within the flash drives. Yes that is effectively what I get when I tried opening the document with Notepad and Notepad++.

Resolved. Apparently the application was trying to open on a program I downloaded a long time ago called GIF Viewer by default. Silly stuff but fixed nonetheless.

The problem grows - I just downloaded a image from my dropbox and when I drop to open it it does the same thing. Has nothing to do with the application it appears.

An autorun.exe for a CD version of a handbook. I used to just double-click the autorun and it would bring up the digital book in my browser. Tried the exact same thing on a different computer and it worked so I think the application itself is fine, just not working on the desktop for some reason.
