    Can comcast mess with your ip address?

    When I leave the range of my self owned modem/router (2nd one, both did the same thing) and then return to in range, it seems to take upto 5 minutes for the router to reconnect to the internet. This didn't happen with the xfinity modem/router.

    If I own my cable modem/wifi can comcast have a program in their system to mess with people's ip address. I'm on my second modem/wifi and they both do the same thing. I had xfinity modem/wifi with no trouble. Thanks
