So I plug one VGA cable into VGA 1 and plug the 6+2 connector in while leaving the 6 flowting free, then I plug the second VGA cable into VGA 2 and use the 6+2 on that one, and it won't short my videocard?

Also, my 1080 came with these cables that have 2 female 6-pins and one male 8-pin, not sure what that's about.

Thanks for the advice guys! I'm definitely avoiding SLI since the last two builds I tried it in failed so spectacularly. What about the mobo is different with the Z170-AR? I don't know anything about motherboards except compatibility, not sure what to look for.

Yeah, and it misses a dvd drive and windows. But it does give me an idea of how much it would be to throw some money away on huge SSD's, and where I could make some cuts on one I'm helping a friend make cheaper.
