I just tried it and luckily my new cpu wasn't fried. Apparently both my old mobo and cpu were fried but my 8gb wasnt.

So I bought new cpu. It worked along with the new mobo plus my current 8gb ram. Should I also try my new cpu in my old mobo to see if it still works?

Previously my mobo has pop sound followed by burnt smell after screw directly without using standoffs. So I tried to fix it, breadboarding, reset cmos, bought new mobo, new psu, used other rams, but still same scenario. I haven't tried to test cpu as I have no spare. My specs are Mobo...

@supahos Omfg im so stupid. I just searched what is standoff. Apparently I grounded my pc. There was no standoff in that hole. Can it still be fixed? That explaind why the smell is isolated in that hole
